Our Hydroseeding Process
Every hydroseeding project is handled with precision and care to deliver a beautiful and long-lasting lawn.
- Soil Testing: We begin by collecting soil samples weeks before the project and testing them to identify nutrient deficiencies. Based on the results, we prepare a customized plan for soil amendments.
- Site Preparation:
- Remove existing grass and weeds using a sod cutter and dispose of any other debris, and unwanted landscape features.
- Use specialized equipment like a sod cutter or Harley rake (click to view video) to create a smooth, aerated surface ideal for root growth.
- Grade the area and add approximately 2 inches of enriched topsoil for a nutrient-rich growing environment.
- We use a water-filled barrel roller to create a firm surface, ensuring proper seed-to-soil contact.
- Hydroseeding Application: A mixture of seed, starter fertilizer, tackifier, and fiber mulch is sprayed evenly across the prepared surface for consistent coverage.
- Watering & Maintenance: Proper watering is critical in the first weeks. We provide detailed instructions to help your lawn thrive. An automatic irrigation system is ideal, but hoses and sprinklers can also work effectively.
